How long has the UH chapter of SPS existed?
Ours is a small physics department, so we need to band together and support each other in our development, exploration, and enjoyment of life and physics. The SPS holds this at the heart of its organization and always strives to improve the lives of its members by providing news of research opportunities and scholarships, inviting faculty to talk about their projects, and orchestrating occasional entertainment.
The University of Houston is an excellent learning environment. Dozens of top-notch faculty are always available to teach and to answer questions. They love to guide students along the scholarly path. But research is the heart of the university and there are opportunities as early as freshman year to get involved.
Houston is a great city to live in, and UH is just minutes from downtown. Around here we're never very far from anything.
